Stichting Kapatiran one of four LINKAPIL Awardees of the Presidential Awards 2008

On December 10, 2008, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo honoured 31 distinguished Filipino individuals and organisations based in 13 countries, who, because of their exceptional achievements or humanitarian efforts, have given form and substance to Filipino excellence and the time-honoured values of pakikipag-kapwa (fellowship), pagtutulungan (helping one another), and pagkakaisa (solidarity or unity).  read more

Livelihood Projects in Ilocos Norte

Bacarra in Ilocos Norte is one of the area beneficiaries of Kapatiran’s Basic Literacy Programme. In order to augment the meagre income of the parents of pupil beneficiaries, the Livelihood Programme was launched.

The first area to benefit from this programme is Salvador Benedicto in Negros Occidental, followed by Botolan in Zambales.

In October 2008 two livelihood projects were launched in Bacarra. Some parents grouped themselves together and embarked into goat-raising and fishery.  read more
