Excellent proceeds campaign Protestant Church Willemstad!
Excellent proceeds campaign Protestant Church Willemstad!
During the morning service on Sunday 13 September a cheque was symbolically presented that stated the total amount raised over the passed year.

No less than € 4.160.05 was raised during several Sunday collections and with various other activities.
When the Church social welfare work started the campaign last year, a short introduction was given by the chairman of Kapatiran assisted by volunteers. It appealed to the Church Council that every € 100.- would enable four children to go to elementary school for a whole year and a board was placed in the front of the church on which the children would place a new letter for every milestone that was reached. Every letter of the alphabet stood for a hundred euro. It cannot be seen very clearly in the photograph, but the alphabet had to be started for a second time!
Willemstad is a small town in the North West of Brabant. The solidarity among the inhabitants is substantial; both sad and happy occasions in the lives of individuals are shared by the community. But they have also been willing to pay attention to Philippine children, so very far removed from Willemstad.
Kapatiran is very happy with spontaneous campaigns like this; they encourage and motivate the Kapatiran Board to carry on!
